The Friends of the Elephant Seal volunteers have welcomed visitors at the Piedras Blancas Northern Elephant Seal Rookery 365 days a year, since 1997.
Although Friends of the Elephant Seal docents/guides may be available to answer your questions at the Elephant Seal Viewing Area, we highly recommend that community organizations, tour buses and multi-generational family groups make a reservation for a private tour with a guide devoted to their group. In addition to more focused attention, dedicated tour guides provide rookery visitors with additional value, through new perspectives and experiences that last long beyond the rookery experience.
Fees
The suggested donation for groups exceeding 10 individuals is $10.00 per participant, including educational materials. The tour operator may provide a lump-sum donation to the Friends of the Elephant Seal in advance of the experience.
