An adult female seal, Arroyo del Corral Callie gives birth each January and returns for the molt every May at Arroyo del Corral, one of the most northern beaches in the rookery. She is flipping sand in celebration of your generosity!

Northern elephant seals populate off shore islands and some mainland coastal areas of North America.  Rookeries extend from Baja California to as far north as British Columbia.  The Piedras Blancas Rookery, in San Simeon California extends along 8 miles of pristine central California coastline. Our collection of northern elephant seals available for symbolic adoption features elephant seals from several areas of our rookery.  Each symbolic adoption supports the Friends of the Elephant Seal’s mission to educate the public and provide stewardship for the Piedras Blancas northern elephant seal colony.

Symbolic adoptions are available in $25, $55 and $100 adoption kits.
