Docents on the Bluff

Friends of the Elephant Seal docents are volunteer guides who are happy to answer your questions and help you to better understand your observations at the Piedras Blancas rookery. They will tell you all about the incredible survival story of the northern elephant seals, their natural history and the science that serves as the foundation for our current knowledge. Whether you are a first-timer or regular visitor to “the bluff,” be sure to ask our docents for tips on best viewing and interesting sights.

We are available 365 days a year, rain or shine. Check our calendar for special family events. Spend some time with the elephant seal experts in royal blue to make your visit even more memorable!
