Description
Toward the end of November the first males begin to arrive to determine the hierarchy of dominant bulls. Males use posturing, vocalizations, and actual combat to determine who will be the dominant males, also called alpha bulls, or beachmasters. By late December there is a lot of activity at the rookery. Celebrate the holiday season with this jolly elephant seal!
