Description

Southern Sea Otters were hunted to near extinction for their luxurious fur coats, which contains 250,000 to a million hairs per square inch. Otters have no blubber so rely entirely on their fur to keep them warm. Otters are observed spending a lot of time grooming, which not only cleans the fur, but helps trap air bubbles and spreads natural oils from the skin to aid in repelling water.

This post card is a perfect way to remember these playful and adorable creatures often seen off the Central California Coast.
