Harbor Seal (Phoca vitulina)
The Harbor Seal is found along temperate and Arctic marine coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere.
The most widely distributed species of pinniped, they are often found in coastal waters of the northern Atlantic and Pacific oceans, as well as in the Baltic and North Seas. They can often be found resting on the rocks adjacent to the Piedras Blancas rookery. Customized for San Simeon, California, this card features a full-color, classic illustration of a harbor seal, by freelance science illustrator, Emily S. Damstra.
